Marine plastic is an ever-increasing problem and Australian Seabird Rescue believes that it is important that we continue to educate people on what you can do to reduce the impact of plastics to marine wildlife. You can attend one of our school holiday tours where we will tell you what you can do to make a difference. You will also get a tour of the Ballina Byron Sea Turtle Hospital where you can see our wall of shame that is full to the brim of plastic that we have found entangled or ingested by sea turtles and seabirds that we have rescued.
You can say no to plastic bags. You can stop using plastic wrap on your lunches. You can buy a keep cup to use instead of take-away cup for your coffee **Keep cups for sale in our gift shop (coming soon). Buy a stainless steel drink bottle which will save you money on take-away drinks.
**more information coming soon!
